Sasha is the perfect example of why adopting an older dog is a great idea! Sasha was found roaming the streets in downtown LA, but some one had spent quality time with her, because she already obeys common commands (sit, stay, down, come.) She is extremely smart and responsive. She will even patiently refrain from eating the cookie on her paw until given the “ok!” She is house-broken and heels calmly on the lead. (However, her foster mommy has learned that, because she can easily be upset by other dogs, she requires a firm, attentive hand when passing barkers, high-energy or anxious dogs.) Sasha enjoys lying quietly by your side as much as she does romping on long hikes in the hills or going for brisk walks around the neighborhood. She is a smaller girl, only about 60 pounds, which is perfect for someone who doesn’t want a larger, stronger pet.  Sasha did not do well in a kennel environment, after being on the streets for a while.  Due to the stressful environment of the kennel, her tail had to be surgically bobbed because she chewed the end raw. She’s doing much better now (and looks very cute from the rear!) At home, Sasha is affectionate and sweet with her foster mommy, but she does want to be “top dog” and would be best suited in a house with no cats or other dogs. Sasha is only 7 years old – she has a lot of life to live, and a LOT of love to give to the right forever family. Could that be you???

Sasha's likes: She loves baths! She's very cooperative when bathed, and her coat is shinny and soft as silk, she loves chasing lizards and bees, her crate is her safe quiet place at the end of the day, sometimes she makes funny little sounds when she says good morning or lays down or sighs, getting her belly rubbed is at the top of her likes list as well as breakfast time, treat time, dinner time, most of all she likes being within eye shot of her foster mom or dad.
